- Description
- The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Directed Energy Directorate (DE) located at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico is interested in receiving proposals for innovative basic physics techniques and approaches in four technical areas that can lead to improving the state-of-the-art in high power solid state bulk and fiber lasers and amplifiers. The specific focus of these efforts is on improving the output power and beam quality of these lasers/amplifiers and on modeling efforts to predict performance of various approaches. AFRL/DE is stressing basic physics research, including experimental, theoretical and modeling, of solid state bulk and fibers suitable for lasers and amplifiers, semiconductor lasers for pumps, and beam combining methods. The BAA and BAA attachments will be posted under the above solicitation number as soon as possible. This solicitation hereby replaces the combined synopsis/solicitation issued on 16 December 2005.
