Description
This synopsis constitutes an announcement of the release of Solicitation Number N00019-06-R-0010 for the AH-1W Linkless Feed. The solicitation has been released and can be accessed on the NAVAIR website at: http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/. The U.S. Marine Corps has a requirement for an AH-1W Linkless Feed Program, which calls for replacing the current A/A49E-7 (V4) 20MM Turett System Linked Feed Assembly with one that utilizes the Linkless bulk 20MM ammunition that is common to other Department of Navy (DON) 20MM systems (F/A-18, CIWS). The 20MM Linkless Feed modification will be installed in up to 181 aircraft and two trainers. At a minimum, the new system should include replacement of the ammunition can, feed chutes, and replacement or modification to the current feeder mechanism for the AH-1W A/A49E-7 (V4) 20MM Turret System. Additionally, the modified/new system will stay within existing size, weight, and power restrictions without changes to the existing airframe. Ammunition loading in austere locations/environments including Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) and shipboard environments is required. This change will be incorporated into the AH-1W and reused when the AH-1W is remanufactured into the AH-1Z. It is anticipated that the Government will an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, Firm Fixed Price contract(s) for a base year and four 1-year option periods. The Government may make multiple awards. All documentation for this effort can be obtained at the following NAVAIR website: http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/. Additionally, all future correspondence will be available on the NAVAIR website. All proposals shall be submitted on 30 January 2006 NLT 1400 hours EST to the following address: Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Ms. Ramona Watts-Sutton (AIR 2.3.2.3.1), 47123 Buse Road, Building 2272, Room 155, Patuxent River, MD 20670. In addition, the Government will allow those offerors interested in a Pre-Proposal Conference meeting to visit the Government?s facility at Patuxent River, MD to discuss the RFP after it has been released.
