- The NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA/GSFC) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for the construction of the new Exploration Sciences Building (ESB). The RFI is seeking questions and or comments on the attached 90% Drawings (NASA Project No. 06GSAZ and 90% Specifications (NASA Project No. 06GSAZ). The ESB is to be located at the Goddard Space Flight Center located in Greenbelt, MD. The building consists of 262,500 gross square feet and is a four story office and three story laboratory building. Building consists of office and laboratory spaces including electronic, chemistry, cryrogenic, and computer labs. Building is concrete framed with brick, glass, and metal siding. Building includes all major electrical and mechanical systems. Clear and grub the project site. Provide site utilities for the project including chilled water, steam, domestic water, sanitary sewer, electric, communications, and site/storm drainage. Construction of roadways, parking, associated site work, and security upgrades. Building designed as U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Silver. Building does not include final outfitting such as furniture, laboratory casework, moving expenses, telephones or communication equipment, and other related outfitting expenses. The purpose of the RFI is to solicit industry comments and questions on the 90% drawings and specifications. The Site-Visit/Industry Day is scheduled for December 20, 2005 at 10 AM (Eastern Standard Time) at the NASA/GSFC Visitor Center (located on Soil Conservation Road), Greenbelt, MD. Parties interested in attending shall forward on company letterhead individual's name, date of birth, and U.S. citizenship no later than 48 hours prior to the site-visit/industry day. Information shall be faxed to (301)286-0247 or e-mailed to Andrea.G.McClendon@nasa.gov . Questions/comments are strongly encouraged on all aspects of the drawings and specifications. Questions/comments shall be submitted on the comments form provided with this notice. The deadline for submitting questions/comments is no later than 3:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on January 5, 2006. This presolicitation synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response.
