Description

This project involves replacing an existing steel pipe culvert with an aluminized steel arch, 18-foot 0-inch span, 8-foot 11-inch rise, 126-foot length. The arch will be placed on poured-in-place concrete footings. Bedrock will be excavated to allow footing placement at the required elevations. Large riprap is to be placed at the corners of the arch. Simulated streambed rock will be placed inside the arch and the adjacent stream channel, then shaped to simulate a natural channel. Stringent dewatering, erosion and sediment control measures will be required. The roadway will be reestablished to the existing alignment, the aggregate base and asphalt concrete surfacing replaced. A secondary access road will be reconstructed, including the installation of two culverts and placement of aggregate surfacing. This project is located on the Mapleton Ranger District, Siuslaw National Forest, Lane County, Oregon. The successful Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished), and incidentals to accomplish all work necessary. The Government estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000. Proposals are due by close of business on February 10, 2006. The successful offeror shall be required to submit Performance (100%) and Payment (100%) Bonds prior to start of work. Contract time is 60 calendar days. Estimated start work date is July 10, 2006. This solicitation is a Total Hubzone set-aside. The solicitation packet will be posted to FedBizOpps on or about January 10, 2006.
