- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase the following services: CLIN Description 0001 Two 3-day training sessions for Health Department personnel 0002 Trouble shooting software problems for CATI users for length of contract 0003 Software upgrades 0004 Site visits to CATI facilities for consultation 0005 Provide one 3 to 4 hour seminar at annual BRFSS conference The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Branch intend to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with Comeau Associates, 177 Ball Hill Road Milford, NH 03055., for the services listed above. The BRFSS has agreements with State Health Departments for data collection. The mode of data collection is telephone survey. The ?state ?of-the-art? in telephone survey methodology is computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI). Most States have adopted Ci3 CATI software by Sawtooth Software, a computer software developer. Comeau Associates is the author of programs and procedures that customize Ci3 CATI software code and perform tasks essential to BRFSS survey purposes. No other vendor has legal access to the source code. Therefore, Comeau Associates is uniquely qualified to provide the services required. This is the only known vendor that legal access to the source code. The anticipated delivery date is December 23, 2005. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), services are available from only one responsible source. The solicitation will be posted on or about December 13, 2005. Sources that believe they can provide these service and meet the requirements should provide proof of their ability via email to mce8@cdc.gov. Only email will be accepted from potential sources.
