Period of Performance: From date of award through September 29, 2006 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements and also FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and Compelling Urgency. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE IS TO SATISTY THE REQUIREMENTS OF FAR 5.2. PROPOSALS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT IN THE FUTURE. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PURPOSE: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM)/Contracting Group(CG) intends to purchase on a sole source basis, software support needed by OPM?s Data Center Group (DCG) to guarantee the continued operation and services being provided to staff using Decision Analyzer software tools, its Advanced Database Management System (ADABAS) interface, and Windows PC based users. This support ensures the proper functioning of the Decision Analyzer and its components, with service available on a 24x7 basis. Support is available within four hours of notice being given to the vendor, day or night. The Decision Analyzer , developed by Decision Technology, Inc., is used by OPM?s retirement operations to analyze data extracted from ADABAS files. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement are invited to submit, in writing, within 10 days of publication of this notice, complete information, including pricing information, describing their ability to provide these services and supply. The Government does not intend to pay for this information.
