Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Air Traffic Control Division St. Inigoes, MD is seeking to identify all responsible sources capable of providing a commercial-off-the shelf central processing unit to support the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC), through its FACSFAC Air Control Tracking System (FACTS). The System provides air traffic controllers and operations specialists with the information and tools to safely control air traffic within the operational area under their jurisdiction. FACTS is an automated, air traffic control and area surveillance system that combines data from 15 or more radars with the Navy?s Tactical Data System and graphically displays the product on local OJ-753 Display Consoles. The targets present on top of multi-color maps depicting warning areas and flight routes. The OJ-753 CPUs provide sub 1/4 second updates to over 2000 targets. The OJ-753 Technology Refresh is a re-occurring effort supported with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment. NAWCAD requires COTS equipment meeting the components enumerated in the requirements list detailed as follows: Central Processing Unit (CPU), The CPU components shall be contained within the published dimensions and consist of the following components: Intel 915G Motherboard chipset, Intel Socket 775 P4 660 3.6Ghz CPU, 800MHz Front side bus, 2MB L2 cache, 1GB dual channel DDR 400 Random Access Memory (RAM) RAM, 250GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard drive, 16X DVD-RW ATAPI Dual Layer Optical, 3.5? 1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive, 7800GT GeForce DDR3 256MB PCI-E graphics card, PCI Express x16 graphics slot, Four USB 2.0 ports, One Serial Port, Two Firewire ports, Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) Heat Pipe CPU cooling, MS Windows XP Professional SP2, Three year total parts & labor warranty, Integrated stereo audio output, Integrated stereo microphone input, One available 32 bit PCI expansion slot, PS/2 Keyboard socket, PS/2 Mouse socket, Gigabit LAN (RJ-45) port, Front Panel Display of fan speed-CPU and system temperatures, Linearly controlled smart cooling fan, Black enclosure and 220W Power Supply. Power Source-110V AC; EMI-FCC, CE, BSMI certified; Dimensions-The dimensions shall not exceed:310x200x185mm (LxWxH). THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE, BUT RATHER A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION from industry that will allow the Government to identify interested sources capable of meeting the requirement. The information sought herein is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP), or as an obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of information submitted in response to the RFI. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request. Interested parties are requested to submit a limited response (5 pages or less) with reporting by exception (i.e., ?Three USB 2.0 ports? available vs. requirement for ?Four USB 2.0 ports?) that demonstrates the respondent?s ability to meet the requirements as specified herein. In addition, respondents shall provide a maximum estimated dollar value for the required equipment based upon an estimated quantity of 175 with delivery estimated during the first quarter of calender year 2006. All proprietary or corporate data received shall be clearly identified and shall be protected from release to sources outside the Government.
