Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement to determine the interest and availability of HUB Zone contractors. The contractor shall be responsible for technical support for on-going geophysical Mu nitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) characterization at all ongoing Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR) projects in support of the Impact Area Groundwater Study Program. Possible efforts include: reprocessing of historic EM-61 geophysical data i ncluding description of data reduction processed used; location of geophysical and/or positional data gaps; validation of geophysical data including discussions of data quality; generation of geophysical reporting listing possible UXO/OE items (dig lists), prioritization ranking of possible buried UXO/OE items; development of discrimination protocols for historical and current geophysical data packages. The contractor shall also be responsible for the creation of a technology database for Unexploded Ordnan ce (UXO) detection and remediation technologies. The technology database will include a description and discussion of effectiveness, implement ability, and relative costs of each technology. Emerging and innovative technologies will also be evaluated for inclusion in the database and applicability to groundwater investigative and remedial efforts for the Wide Area Source Assessment (WASA) program. All work shall be performed in accordance with the MMR Geophysical Standard Operating Procedures (GSOP) and p roject approved methods and approaches. Interested HUB Zone Small Businesses who are capable of performing this work should submit a written notice to this office demonstrating your ability and experience in geophysical technical services. Thus is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP), or an announcement of a solicitation. Responses are required no later than December 14, 2005. Reponses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, N ew England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Rachael Raposa (Contracts Branch). Firms interested shall provide the above documentation, in one original form and one copy. Responses shall be limited to 5 pages and shall include your HUB ZONE Small Business status. The government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. The result of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
