The Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA) is seeking to hire under a Personal Services Contract (PSC) a qualified individual to fill the position of Relocation Coordinator. Under the direction of the Brookhaven National Laboratory?s Physics Department, the Relocation Coordinator will assist U.S. personnel in relocating to the Geneva, Switzerland area. As BSA is preparing for the ATLAS detector commissioning and operations, many U.S. ATLAS scientists and technicians will spend a long period of time at CERN, the world?s largest particle physics laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. The successful candidate has to possess the following required skills: (1) fluency in both French and English; (2) excellent computer skills, and (3) ability to communicate both orally and in writing. The work will support the US ATLAS Research Program. This contract will be for a person based near Geneva, Switzerland providing support and working with U.S. personnel at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. Duties and Responsibilities Work will consist of searching and assisting in the choice of the appropriate housing for the U.S. ATLAS personnel, negotiating terms and rental conditions, help U.S. people with local registration, assisting in arranging schooling for children, utilities, etc., in addition to other administrative tasks to help U.S. personnel. Location CERN, the world?s leading fundamental physics research institution, - Geneva, Switzerland Terms of Performance The Relocations Coordinator shall perform the preceding services on a part-time basis during the period of January 1, 2006 through January 31, 2011. Minimum Qualifications 1. Education: Applicants for this position are expected to hold a professional degree in Business Administration. A BA degree is preferred. 2. Experience: A minimum of five years of hands-on work experience that has provided a familiarity with the housing markets and regulations in Geneva, Switzerland and Pays de Gex areas. 2. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in both French and English. 3. Language: Fluency in both French and English is required. 4. Travel: Candidate is required to be based in the Geneva area, Switzerland in order to perform this work. 5. Other: a. Excellent Computer Skills Required. Candidate must have highly developed computer skills for generating documents, spreadsheets, presentations and databases. b. Strong interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to work with a diverse group of people from Switzerland, the U.S. and other countries. Selection Criteria The Relocation Coordinator selection criteria will be scored as follows: 30 points: Relocation Coordinator experience and education 20 points: Computer skills 20 points: International work experience 30 points: Interpersonal, negotiation and organizational and managerial skills. Basis of evaluation ? Two tier process Tier 1: Candidates resumes and applications will be evaluated on the extent and quality of their experience, education, and accomplishments as they relate to this position. Up to a total of 70 points may be awarded for experience and education. These factors are considered essential for successful job performance and those applicants receiving the highest scores will be considered in the competitive range and will be short-listed for interviews. Tier 2: those who meet these minimum qualification requirements will be further evaluated in an interview. The interview may be conducted in person or by telephone. Up to 30 points may be awarded for interpersonal, negotiation, organizational and managerial skills and the applicant receiving the highest score will be selected. The interviews will center on: 1. Ability to deal with associates and representatives of the U.S. ATLAS Program. 2. Ability to effectively communicate information pertaining to the U.S. ATLAS Program. II. Candidates must possess their own personal heath and disability insurance while employed in this position. Before a final offer is made, certification that the candidate possesses his/her own personal health and disability insurance will be made by the Physics Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Benefits, e.g. Employee?s FICA Contribution, Health & Life Insurance, and Worker?s Compensation, are not applicable to this contract. III. APPLYING: A. Qualified Individuals should note that: 1.
