Description
Request for Information for TYPE I AND TYPE II SUPERLATTICE FOCAL PLANE ARRAYS AND CAMERAS FOR TACTICAL AND STRATEGIC APPLICATIONS - The Science and Technology Division, Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate, Fort Belvoir, VA jointly with the Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico is conducting a worldwide market survey of vendors who shall provide the US Army and Air Force with staring format mid and long wavelength infrared focal plane arrays (FPAs) and cameras for tactical and strategic applications. These FPAs should be based on Type I (QWIP) or Type II (Strained Layer Superlattice) technology. The staring FPA/camera must be a non-developmental item. Vendors must have a broad experience in the field of Focal Plane Arrays, as well as adequate fabrication and test facilities to warrant pre-production testing and limited procurement of these long wavelength FPAs. The following elements are required for consideration in the staring format, mid or long wavelength market survey: 1) Demonstrate requirements of staring midwave or longwave FPAs with format at least 256x256, 2) the acquisition must be a non-developmental effort and units must be available upon a signed contractual agreement. For consideration, all respondents must in dividually address each of the above elements. Data to include prior testing of the FPAs must be furnished to support responsiveness to the non-developmental effort. The Government will provide for pre-production testing and resultant acquisition of the st aring format, mid and long wavelength FPA units. Responses must be received by COB 16 December 2005 and should be addressed to Dept of the Army, Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate, AMSEL-RD-NV-ST-IFT, Attn: Whitney Mason, 10221 Burbeck Road, For t Belvoir, VA 22060-5806, fax (703) 704-1823.
