Description

The VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York (Albany, Bath, Canandaigua, Rochester, Syracuse, and Western New York) Medical Centers is soliciting for wheelchair repair to include manual/power wheelchairs/scooters, assembly of custom made power wheelchairs/scooters and installation/repair of wheelchair and scooter trunk lifts. The services will be available to all eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs located in designated geographic areas as defined in the RFP. Repairs shall be performed at the veteran's home whenever possible or at the Contractor's facility when necessary. Payment shall be made utilizing the Government Purchase Card therefore, the Contractor must be capable of accepting it for payment. Bids are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued on or about November 28, 2005. The VA anticipates multiple award from this solicitation and will award a contract(s) to responsible offerors whose offers are conforming to the solicitation and will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Approximately 50% of the awarded contracts will be set-aside for small business. The NAICS code for this procurement is 446199. This solicitation adheres to the format defined in FAR Part 12 for the acquisition of commercial items. Contract period will be one year with four one-year renewal options.
