Description
Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (herein known as "BSA"), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory under Contract DE-ACO2-98CH10886, with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) herewith solicits quotes for one Cylindrical Mirror Analyzer (CMA for Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) with built in 5keV electron gun and extra external SEM-detector. It is attached to an UHV chamber containing a modified 4 port 4-5/8" cross with extra flanges for the CMA and accessories (1 x 6" CF, 3 x 2-3/4" CF) or similar. The UHV Chamber shall possess the additional capability of accepting an external mircofocus electron gun which is planned as a future system upgrade. The Offeror shall supply BSA with a CMA System as per the following specifications: Working distance: 55 to 77mm (This is a strict requirement) Energy range: 10eV to 2500eV. Resolution: 1 eV to 10eV, electronically adjustable Resolving power: 0.1% to 0.6% electronically adjustable. Analyzer Modes: dE=const. and dE/E=cont., electronically selectable. Detection: Lock-In technique and/or pulse counting technique (pulse counting preferred), (1..300nA current) Scanning AES option, 2..3 mm scan range. Low resolution SEM (80?m resolution with internal electron gun). This system shall include a computer controllable analog interface to the CMA electronics by standard low voltage (+/-l0V range) in/outputs and TTL output for pulse output for counting. All CMA/electron-gun (internal & external) electronics needed to operate shall be supplied. Computer interfacing, based on these electronics, will be performed by BSA. The seller shall provide a detailed manual and description of the operation of the CMA and of all relevant inputs and outputs, such as to facilitate the implementation of the computer control by BNL. The seller shall also provide complimentary support for questions regarding computer control of the CMA. The scanning control included shall be capable of low speed scanning (SAES) and video mode SEM, IEEE1394 and video outputs shall be supplied. This RFQ has been sent to the following known manufacturers: Omicron Nano Technology, USA Specs Scientific Instruments, Inc Physical Electronics, USA STAIB Instruments All other interested vendors desiring to respond to this solicitation, with products that meet or exceed the aforementioned specifications, may down load the attached RFQ. Questions concerning this RFQ should be forwarded to David J. Paveglio
