Description

The government intends to solicit for award of a firm fixed price purchase order for the software services of Marconi Communications Federal, Inc. utilizing other than full and open competition. The required brand name services are as follows: 1 years worth (12 months) of maintenance support Marconi Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Equipment and maintenance support Marconi manufactured virtual presence (VIPR) video display terminals as required by the Joint Forces Intelligence Command (JFIC). The statutory authority for pursing this action on a brand name only basis is 10USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(c). There is only one brand name able to provide necessary compatible support and no other brand will satisfy agency requirements. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available by downloading the documents at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. This office will no longer issue hard copy solicitations. By submitting a quote, the contractor will be self certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to so represent ay be grounds for refusing to accept the quote. By submission of a quote, the offeror acknowledges that a prospective awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award, during performance of the order and through final appointment of the purchase order. Failure to register on CCR may make an offeror ineligible for award. The solicitation will be posted on or about 15 November 2005 and close on or about 28 November 2004.
