Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases is seeking an organization or institution to provide continued support for an islet/beta cell transplant registry that will collect and analyze both pre- and post-transplantation clinical data from all institutions performing these transplants within North America and participating sites in Europe. Included in this registry will be information pertaining to: donor source, tissue typing, assessment of viral and bacterial tissue contamination, length of graft preservation, islet/beta cell preparation and storage procedures, patient demographics, patient and graft survival rates by era, insulin usage, surgical techniques, type of immunosuppression, immunoisolation and/or tolerance induction protocol, and post-transplantation quality of life assessment. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on November 29, 2005 on the NIDDK website at www.niddk.nih.gov under Highlights and under Research Programs. All responses to this RFP shall be submitted no later than 3:00pm local time on January 16, 2006. This contract acquisition is a 100% Total Set Aside for Small Business.
