Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 7, is soliciting bids for the dry dock and overhaul on the M/V Tiglax. This is a HUBZone small business set-aside. Only HUBZone small businesses with a shipyard in either Alaska or Washington State will be considered. Places of performance outside of Alaska and Washington State will not be considered due to travel distances, travel time, costs incurred by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and spring vessel deployment schedule. The M/V Tiglax is a 121 foot steel hulled vessel. Highlights of the major work to be performed include: Haul-out / Dry dock; Bottom work / Painting; Propeller work; Rudder work; Tail shaft work; Freeboard repaint; Topside repaint; Main deck repaint; Deck equipment repaint; Forward crane work; Aft crane work; Cleaning Sea Chest and cross piping; Cathodic protection system work; Bilge cleaning; Potable water tank work; Ballast tank work; Chain locker work; Anchor gear work; Repair main engine exhaust leak; Paint rust areas on cargo hatch and coaming and starboard exposure suit locker hatch; Lazarette work; Bulwark gate repair; and Sea Trials. Anticipated date for issuance of solicitation is on-or-about November 28, 2005. This solicitation will be issued by Electronic Commerce; hence e-mail addresses for interested parties are required, as is registration with the National Business Center Business Opportunity website http://ideasec.nbc.gov from which you will obtain the solicitation and any subsequent amendments. Bidders will have 30 days in which to submit bids. Award is anticipated to be made in early January 2006. The Service will deliver and present M/V Tiglax to the ship yard / dry dock no later than March 20, 2005. The contractor shall begin performance under the resultant contract and have all work on the vessel completed no later than six (6) weeks after receipt of vessel. The ship will depart the contractor's facility no later than six weeks after the date of initial delivery to the drydock.
