Description
NAICS Code: 334519 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Office of Radiation and Indoor Air (ORIA), Radiation and Indoor Environments National Laboratory (R&IE) intends to award a sole source fixed-price Purchase Order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Canberra Industries, Inc. of Meriden, CT. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain maintenance support for analytical hardware including electronic component repairs, replacement parts, telephone support and on-site technical support necessary for the continuous operation of R&IE's equipment and software. Canberra is uniquely qualified to meet this requirement due to the fact that it is the only known vendor responsible for maintaining the hardware given the proprietary nature of electronic interfacing components and the current gamma and alpha spectroscopy software configuration. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334519. It has been determined that because of the ability of Canberra to maintain the current software and hardware configuration, it is the only vendor uniquely qualified to meet this requirement. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received by the response date of this announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed Purchase Order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Jami Rodgers via e-mail at rodgers.jami@epa.gov.
