General Information Document Type: Sources Sought Notice, Solicitation Number: Reference Number F4D3D95300A200 Posted: 7 Nov 05, NAICS: 328210 Description: 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California intends to issue a sole source contract to Western utilities for replacement of Siemens-Allis Type Load Tap Changer for a K2 transformer manufactured by Virginia Transformer Corp. Transformer specifications: 10,000/11,200/14,000KVA; Hv 69000 Volts; Lv 12470GrndY/7200 Y; 55/65/65 C Rise; Three (3) Phase; Class 0A/OA/FFA; IMP: 6.75%; Winding Material: Copper; Serial Number: 47010MA004-7500B; Load Tap Charger Oil: 280 Gallons. Contractor shall repair the inoperable device or devices. All tests shall be in accordance with the manufacture?s procedures and recommendations as per Installation, Operations, and Care of Type TLS Load Tap Changing Equipment by Siemens-Allis. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
