Description

The Government intends to make a sole source award to SRI, International. This non-competitive action is being issued by GovWorks under the authority of the Department of the Interior Franchise Fund on the behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM). This action is being processed in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source. In order to accomplish required Integrated GPS Radio System (IGRS) wireless data flow across training ranges and to the mainside Combined Arms Staff Trainer and Battle Simulation Center, the Government has a requirement for eight mountain-top base stations to be installed at Twentynine Palms and interfaced to the base's communications backbone. The IGRS to be used during FY06 is currently under final design by SRI International under M67854-04-C-8014 with the MARCORSYSCOM's PM for Training Systems (PM TRASYS). Final IGRS design delivery will be made in FY07 and until that time all data is owned by SRI International. Therefore IGRS is currently proprietary, owned by SRI international and SRI is the only vendor who can fulfill the requirement for IGRS equipment. These base stations are required by 30 Sep 2005. This is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received no later than close of business on Monday, November 14, 2005 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
