Description
CONTACT Jacques WaWa, ILS Manager, (732) 532-1568. This is a Market Survey to locate additional sources for spares for the AN/TMQ-41 & 41A, Meteorological Measuring Set (MMS) (NSN: 6660-01-386-3906, 6660-01-468-3306). The MMS is an upper air Meteorol ogical (MET) data collection, processing and dissemination system, which provides data to the field artillery target acquisition and air weather services to improve their mission capability. The MMS works in conjunction with radiosondes, carried aloft by b alloons, to provide barometric pressure, relative humidity, temperature, wind speed and wind direction measurements to an altitude of 30km above the earths surface. The system is capable of operating in any climatic area and over any type terrain. It can sound the atmosphere at hourly intervals over extended periods of time and automatically transmits almost real time data in the format of the user. The current source for this systems components is Smiths Detection, Inc. Suppliers capable of furnishing an y components or spares must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USACECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-IEW-C-SN, Building 1201E, Ft Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. The response must include documentation such as test results, copy of purchase order if the supplier was a ven dor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with a unit that will be physically and functionally interchangeable with the unit from the previous supplier. Successful supplier may be required to warrant that the item supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army.
