Description
The follow are the answers to questions submitted for this requirement: Questions Wooden Lockers Solicitation # FA4610-06-T-0005 1) How close to the street drop-off (number of feet) is the room where the locker installation is to take place? Approx 50 feet. 2) Is the room on the street level? If not, are the stairs/freight elevator capable of transporting the lockers? What’s the width of the door(s) where the lockers have to go through to reach the room? There is 2 ways into the room, really depends on what type of truck the company brings. One way is completely level, which is through the hangar, the door this way is 7 ft. High by 7 ft. wide. This is the easiest way in. the second way there is one curb and one small step into the building. This way the front door is 7 ft high by 3 ft wide. And the second dorr into the shop is 6 ft high by 3 ft wide. (All these measurements may be off by a couple inches. 3) Are the (39) lockers ’39 single tier’ or ‘39 double tier lockers? 39 single tier lockers. 4) Is MDF core (standard for wooden door veneer lockers) acceptable for their interior? Yes 5) Do you have a detailed drawing of what you want? Are any drawings and specifications available for this project? Please provide a simple drawing/floor plan of the room where the lockers are to be installed to help determine the need for single/double panels and/or corner panels or identify the # of panels and their type needed? Please send an email to Celeste Cappomagi at celeste.cappomagi@vandenberg.af.mil, or fax a request to 805-606-5867, Attn. Celeste Cappomagi, and a floor plan will be sent to you. 6) Are ‘bases’ for the lockers to be provided or is the room configured with pre-build bases where the lockers will sit on? The floor will be the base. 7) Were the specifications drawn from any particular brand-name/model locker and if so, which one? No, they will be Custom made. 8) What do you mean by “Must install in shop” ? Basically does this solicitation include installation at the destination? Please clarify. We want them delivered to us brought into the shop and positioned in the arrangement we designed there is no real installation meaning no wiring, no fastening etc. 9) Are sloped tops required? None are mentioned in the solicitation. Not Required 10) Are bases required? If so, what type and who is responsible for supplying them. They will sit on the floor, so only a bottom is needed not a base. 11) The Synopsis calls for Lockers, wooden. We can supply Ideal Products, Inc. lockers with Oak Veneer doors and bodies of plastic laminated High Density Particle Board. Will this construction be acceptable? As long there would be no problem with possibility of was or saltwater getting on and possibly sitting on it. 12) By slab doors do you mean solid lumber or plywood with edge banding or thicker edging? What do you consider a "stab door” do you mean SLAB DOORS? Can you provide additional details to describe the materials? A Flat door with fully concealed hinges, door designed to lock with a padlock in needed. 13) Framed doors with 1/4 plywood panels? No Plywood 14) Just a hasp for locking? Unless we find something better. 15) Metal grills, plastic, wood? Wood or Metal. 16) What is the spacing of the shelf, relative to the top of the cabinet? 12 ½ inches. 17) Double hook installed on back or on side (which side)? Hook will be on inner side of locker, Right Side. 18) Any requirements for the backs, i.e: Thickness (1/4", 1/2") Type of joint with cabinet? Must have a back that is sturdy minimum 1/4”. Most will be back to back or against a wall. 19) We assume that each of the 39 lockers is self standing, i.e. no shared side walls. Is this a safe assumption? The lockers can be in groups of 2 with the final locker single self standing. 20) Would you please verify the dimensions to be: 18"W X 22"D X 86"H? Yes 21) Please advise if the 18" is the width or the depth? 18” high from top of inside locker to where the shelf should be. 22) Is there a toekick or not? No. 23) Also, does a history exists on this item? No. All other terms and conditions remain the same. All quotes must be sent to Doris Alaniz at : Fax 805-606-5867; doris.alaniz@vandenberg.af.mil; 30 CONS Attn: Doris Alaniz Bldg 7015 Sec 2C Vandenberg AFB CA 93437.
