Description
Dockside Repairs NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown to be performed at the Pier ?Papa? at the former Charleston Naval Station, on Hobson Avenue. This is the Coast Guard Pier, located near NOAA?s Pier ?Romeo?. Performance period to commence on or about December 12, 2005, and shall be completed on or before January 25, 2006, (44 calendar) Basic contract items are Misc. Steel Repairs, Piping Renewals and Mods, Galley/Laundry Ventilation Cleaning, Rescue Boat Davit Inspection, Cargo Lift Maintenance, Generator Cleaning, Galley Systems Groom, Mess Deck Tile Renewal, Paint Locker Modification, Deck Equipment Repairs, and Pump Overhauls. Option Items are Chilled Water System Maintenance, Flooring Renewals, and Gangway Installation. Characteristics of the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown: Length Overall ? 274 ft.- 0 in., Beam (Molded) ? 52 ft. ? 6 in., Draft, Navigational ? 119 ft. ? 0 in., Displacement (FL) ? 3250 LT, Displacement (LS) ? 2100 LT, Gross Tonnage ? 3180 G.T., Depth to Main Deck ? 26 ft. ? 6 in., Machinery Plant ? Split Bus Diesel Electric, Diesel Generators: Three Caterpillar 3516 with Kato A248440000 @1,500 KW each , Three Caterpillar 3508 with Kato A24841000 @ 715 KW each, Motors ? Propulsors ? Two @ 3,000 HP Fixed Pitch Z-Drive, Bow Thruster ? One @ 1,180 HP Azimuthing Jet Drive. This is a 100% small business set-aside and the award is intended for a firm fixed price contract using sealed-bid procedures. No Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating assigned. To be eligible for award, offerors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR): www.ccr.gov <http://www.ccr.gov/> and must have registered at Dun and Bradstreet and have a valid DUNS number and provide with the bid.
