Description

A Prospectus for the Delivery of Visitor Services, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Through this prospectus, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest is seeking a concessionaire partner or partners to provide a broad range of visitor services at sites located throughout the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Offered opportunities include restaurant operation, retail gift sales, educational book sales, mobile food and sundries vending, recreational equipment rentals, outfitter guide services, theater operation, development and operation of concessionaire-owned rustic lodging facilities, conversion of an existing Forest Service administrative compound to public recreational uses such as an organizational camp or RV campground, and other opportunities. The term of the special use permit will be five years, with longer terms possible depending on the nature of the proposed service and level of investment. Please take time to study this Prospectus carefully before submitting an application package. The Forest Service cannot ensure a profitable operation to the successful applicant. For this reason, each prospective applicant is encouraged to make a careful economic appraisal of the opportunities offered by this solicitation. The deadline for receipt of applications is 4 p.m. Friday January 27, 2006.
