Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide medical consultant services in the specialty of Psychiatry. This procurement will be for commercial item services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Consultation services shall consist of the paper review of medical evidence in disability claims on-site only at 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. No patient contact. Some travel may be required. Offerors must: (1) have a valid license to practice medicine in the US; (2) have current or recent clinical experience related to the specialties listed, or experience reviewing/adjudicating disability cases in the specialties listed, and (3) be available for onsite work a minimum of 12 hours per week, at least 2 days per week and for 44 weeks of the calendar year between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. All potential contractors will be required to pass a security background check before beginning performance on an award. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. To register in the CCR at the website: www.ccr.gov, applicants must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). SSA anticipates awarding firm fixed-price, indefinite-quantity contracts. The base period of performance shall be from approximately January 3, 2006 or date of award, whichever is later, through December 31, 2006, with provisions for the inclusion of four one-year option periods. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about October 5, 2005. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 621111 and the size standard is $8.5M. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on the Fed Biz Ops (FBO) web page at www.eps.gov. All parties interested in submitting an offer should download the solicitation from the FBO web site. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
