- Description
- DESC: The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards AFB intends to solicit and award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Aerolab, Inc. of Laurel MD. The FSC Code is 6636. The NAICS code is 332313 which has a Small Business Administration size standard of 500 employees. The items to be procured are as follows: The following item will be procured: CLIN0001 Mach Number Supersonic Wind Tunnel, : Our first and foremost need is to have a small, educational sized supersonic tunnel (visible are less than 2x2x2 inches) that is a turn key system with all necessary parts included; including an air compressor, an air separator, a heated desiccant 2 stage dryer, and a storage tank. Basically, a system where only electricity and installation are needed to make the tunnel run. Secondly, we need a tunnel whose mach number is infinitely adjustable. Third, we need a tunnel that is set up to work on the software LabView. Fourth, for educational purposes it is imperative that the tunnel has the following analog gages: storage pressure, stagnation pressure, stagnation temperature, and test section static pressure. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete technical package, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government’s requirement. In addition, the response should include any special requirements for a commercial contract (i.e., Commercial Financing, Warranty Provisions, Delivery Information, etc.) in accordance with FAR Part 12. Anticipated Award date is 20 SEP 2005. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 4:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, 19 Sep 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 4 days of the publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Facsimile and electronic mail responses are acceptable and must be received on or before the closing date. Telephone requests to be placed on a mailing list will not be honored.
