Notice of Contract Action for a Sole Source Procurement SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR ORBIT Advanced Technologies, Inc., Microwave Test and Measurement Solutions. DESC: INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT WITH ORBIT Advanced Technologies, Inc. The Air Force, Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to ORBIT Advanced Technologies, Inc., 506 Prudential Road, Horsham, PA 19044, the manufacturer. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following commercial items: 1) Part Number: FR8205B, Pulse Modulator Unit, 0.1-2 GHz, quantity -1; 2). Part Number FR8205B-Split, Separate transmit and receive rack mount enclosures, quantity -1; 3). Part Number: Aligent 81104A, Timing Generator, quantity - 1; 4). Option: Part Number: 959Spectrum-13, Installation of pulse modulator system. The Pulse Modulator Unit and associated peripherals for the 412 Test Wing Electronic Warfare (EW) Directorate in support of measurement of antenna patterns on systems under test in the Benefield Anechoic Facility (BAF). The Directorate is challenged to measure antenna patterns on systems under test in the BAF. The 959Spectrum Automated Antenna Measurement Workstation, the data acquisition software used in the BAF, only supports the pulse modulator interface available in the ORBIT/FR 8205B. The Pulse Modulator, operating in the 0.1 ? 2 GHz range, is the only separable pulse modulator unit with transmit and receive components in separate enclosures. The Pulse Modulator Unit conforms to all industry standards (foreign and domestic) and military Modulator Standards in place at this time. Conformance with both domestic and foreign standards will provide the EW Directorate with the capability to meet both domestic and foreign customer requirements. The items work with the 8510/8530 or PNA as part of the Electronic Warfare Test Capability (EWTC). Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the items above. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by Close of Business (COB), 19 Sep 2005, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with ORBIT Advance Technologies, Inc.
