- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 20050901. This acquisition is a small business set-aside. NAICS is 334519 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Solicitation is for commercial purchase of: One (1) each Calibration Press Description: The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) at Edwards AFB, 419th FLTS, 412 TW/Instrumentation Division, has a requirement for 1 each Calibration Press to be identical in operation to 60,00 lb aircraft scale Force Calibration Press except base plate assembly will be approximately 46 ?? X 58?. Base plate will provide a working area of not less than 40? wide (between the tie bars) and 58? deep (front to back). From the center- line of the hydraulic ram to the rear edge of the base plate will be 20? and from the center- line of the hydraulic ram to the front edge of the base plate will be 38?. This is to include the following: Frame assembly consisting of a mounting base with a platen, threaded tension tie bars and a moveable crosshead; 60,000 lb hydraulic force application system; 1 inch (approximate) thick reinforced base plate; motorized adjustable cross head; testing & proof loading to 125% of capacity; packing for shipment. Also, we would like the following options: set of 4 lets; calibrating adapter plate with rubber to calibrate aircraft scales; auxiliary screw pistons. Please include any shipping charges. This calibration press is for use in maintenance and calibration of all aircraft weighing scales. This is a high use item supporting aircraft weighing scales for weight and balance checks of every aircraft platform both here at Edwards and the Southern California region. The requested force press has incorporated base plate dimensions adhering to the Technical Order requirement and a waist level working area for better ergonomics. Place of delivery, performance, and acceptance is FOB Destination, Edwards AFB, CA 93524.
