Description

Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subparts 6.301 and 6.302, the U.S. Census Bureau intends to extend Contract #YA1323-04-CN-0006 from November 16, 2005 through September 31, 2006 with the National Academy of Science on a sole source basis to allow for the convening of panels and completion of deliverables for a Study of American Community Survey. The completion of the panels and delivery of the reports will satisfy the final requirements of the services under this contract. The Census Bureau believes that the National Academy of Science?s experience and extensive involvement in the efforts to date uniquely qualify them to successfully complete the remaining requirements. Parties interested in reviewing the final requirements for this survey may request a copy from Abe Kennedy at albert.ernest.kennedy@census.gov. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing , and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Census Bureau?s needs. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to the U.S. Census Bureau, Acquisition Division, 4700 Silver Hill Road, Room #1557 (Mail Stop 1700), ATTN: Albert E. Kennedy (Contract Specialist), Suitland, Maryland 20746 or via email address albert.ernest.kennedy@census.gov. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 5 days from the publication of this synopsis, an extension of the base period to the contract may be issued to the National Academy of Science without further notice.
