- 29---ANTI-ICING VALVE ASSEMBLY--- SOLICITATION NUMBER FA8104-05-Q-0284, 448 EPSG/PKA, TINKER AFB OK 73145-3020. ITEM 0001 NSN: 2995-01-443-6882NZ; P/N: 4084053. FORM, FIT AND FUNCTION: THE ANTI-ICING VALVE IS A SHUTOFF VALVE, USED IN THE AIRCRAFT ANTI-ICING SYSTEMS WITH ENGINE BLEED AIR. SIZE/DIMENSIONS: 7.7 INCHES LONG X 3.8 INCHES WIDE X 6.5 INCHES HIGH. PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: STAINLESS STEEL. APPLICABLE TO: F100-229 ENGINE. QUANTITY: 2 EACH. DESTINATION: FB6563 (1EA) AND FB6141 (1EA). DELIVERY: APRIL 2006. Qualification Requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. The solicitation will contain instructions for obtaining further information on this requirement. All responsible sources solicited may submit a proposal, which shall be considered. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product, or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation will identify the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualification requirements. The currently approved sources are: Whittaker Controls Inc, North Hollywood CA and United Technologies Corp (Pratt & Whitney), East Hartford CT. The approximate issue date of the solicitation will be 24 Aug 2005. The approximate response date of the solicitation will be 14 Sep 2005. The anticipated award date will be 13 Oct 2005. The solicitation will be available for download on the release date from www.fedbizops.gov. No telephone requests. Hardcopies of the solicitation will not be sent from this office. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel.
