Description
The Boise Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), 500 West Fort Street, Boise, ID 83702, intends to negotiate a sole-source commercial (FAR Part 12) service contract with the Boise City Fire Department located at 141 S. Capital Blvd, Suite 701, Boise, ID 83702 in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1. The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-5. The Contractor, by and through their fire department, will provide complete fire protection services in the form of equipment and personnel, as required, for the appropriate response and mitigation to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 500 West Fort Street, Boise, ID 83702. The fire protection to be furnished under this contract shall apply to all buildings occupied and operated by the VA, as well as the equipment and materials located therein. The VAMC, Boise, ID is classified as a Class ?A? facility. Fire protection coverage shall be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including holidays. This contract is considered to be sole source because of the foregoing statements, all of which are vital considerations in determining the best services meeting this facility's needs. Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest to the Contracting Officer no later than 1400 Mountain Standard Time, September 16, 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete the action based on responses is solely within the Government's discretion. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive proposal. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of Boise VAMC.
