Description
THE PREVIOUS MODIFICATION TO THIS SYNOPSIS CANCELLED THIS SYNOPSIS IN ITS ENTIREY. THIS NOTICE IS NOW BEING ISSUED AGAIN AS FOLLOWS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROCURRING THE FOLLOWING ITEM: NSN: 3110-01-388-9826NZ; PR FD2030-05-54748, Part Number: 4081024, Noun: #2 Main Bearing. Item Description: This bearing is used to stabilize the Inlet Fan and Fan Drive Turbine as they meet in the Core. All aspects of this part are crucial. The approximate dimensions are: 7.990 X 4.33045 X 1.408. The predominant material of manufacture is PWA 793 Steel. Appl: F100-229 Engine. Destination: 6/13/19 EA FB2039; Qty: 6/13/19 EA. Delivery: April 2006. The approximate issue date of the solicitation will be 23 September 2005. The approximate response date of the solicitation will be 11 October 2005. The anticipated award date will be 31 October 2005. Written procedures will be used for this solicitation. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered. Note: While price will be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final contract award decision may be based upon a combination of price and past performance factors as detailed in the solicitation. Note: Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award, in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1 or 52.209-2. AWARD WILL NOT BE WITHHELD AWAITING QUALIFICATION. For qualification information/source approval requests, contact OC-ALC/BC, 3001 Staff Drive, Ste # 1AC85A, Tinker AFB, OK 73145-3009. Qualified sources include: Pratt & Whitney (cage: 52661); FAG Bearing LTD (cage: 36069); MRC Bearing Co. (cage: 38443); and Torrington Co., Fafnir Bearing Div. (cage: 21335). Note: Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government?s requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
