Description
Sandia National Laboratories has developed and tested aqueous-based decontamination technologies (DF-100 and DF-200) that can rapidly neutralize chemical and biological warfare (CBW) agents, many toxic industrial chemicals, and a wide spectrum of biological pathogens. The formulations: have been successfully demonstrated in live agent testing at approved military facilities and other independent laboratories, in field tests, and in actual use; have demonstrated rapid sporicidal capabilities; have low toxicity and corrosivity properties; work on a number of material surfaces including those with organic loadings and biofilms; can be incorporated into a wide variety of carriers (foams, gels, liquid sprays, fogs) that satisfy a wide variety of operational objectives. DF-100 and DF-200 were developed through funding provided by the U.S. Department of Energy?s and National Nuclear Security Administration?s Chemical and Biological National Security Program (CBNP). A US patent has been granted and additional US and International patent applications are pending for these technologies. Sandia?s primary focus is in seeking companies interested in partnering opportunities leading to licensing and commercial manufacturing of this technology. Partnerships may take the form of Cooperative Research & Development Agreements (CRADA) and/ or commercial licenses. Commercial licensees will have the option to obtain, up to and including, a non-exclusive license to the intellectual property in a pre-negotiated, defined field of use for reasonable compensation. CRADAs are expected to include funds-in to the Lab. Sandia is specifically soliciting licensees with demonstrated track records of obtaining EPA registrations and FDA approvals, interested in licensing the DF-100 and/or DF-200 technologies primarily to develop products for industrial and commercial uses. Some potential uses may include general disinfection and/or sterilization operations, mold remediation, consumer disinfection products, agricultural biosecurity, food processing applications and others. Primary considerations for selection of interested parties will include (1) the ability of the licensee to acquire registration of the DF-100 and/or DF-200 technologies with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pursuant to the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), and (2) a demonstrated quality assurance program already in place by the licensee. For further information, interested parties should contact Teresa Montoya at Sandia National Laboratories by fax at 505-844-8011 or by email at tmontoy@sandia.gov. Please indicate the date and title of this FBO notice and the type of partnering agreements your company would be most interested in entering into
