Description
SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to issue a sole source contract to Thermo Electron/Thermo Eberline (TE/TE), 26400 Broadway Avenue, Oakwood Village, OH 44146-6519, for Automated Thermo Luminescence Dosimeter (TLD) Reader Systems comprising of reader control and dosimeter processing hardware, software, training, spare parts kits, and accessories. Setup and checkout of reader system by the manufacturer should be coordinated to coincide with setup and checkout of the dose processing and management system by the Naval Dosimetry Center (NDC). The contractor shall demonstrate, for the designated NDC representative, satisfactory operation of the TLD reader system in stand-alone mode as well as when connected to the Navy???s dose processing and management system/network. Documentation (summary report(s)) showing dosimeter and reader quality checked (QC) performed, including dosimeter accuracy and sensitivity verification, must be provided with each reader & dosimeter shipment. A final QC Summary Report, including all dosimeters and readers delivered, shall be provided to SPAWARSYSCEN, Charleston. All hardware and software deliverables shall be of identical configuration. The contractor shall provide to the government, at no additional cost, any upgrades to systems software released during the contract period, i.e. from contract award through the end of the warranty period for the final hardware delivery. All radiation dosimetry equipment and supplies currently used by the NDC (existing system) to provide dosimetry processing services to the Navy community are manufactured by TE/TE. The dosimeters and reader systems identified for this procurement have been manufactured and/or customized by TE/TE and are completely interchangeable with the existing NDC systems but are not available and supported through independent distribution channels. This highly specialized equipment is available only from TE/TE that holds proprietary rights to its system designs. A Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, type contract is anticipated. The applicable North American Industry Classification (NAIC) Code is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees.
