Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR TRACE GAS ANALYZER SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to: A. Answer the questions the following questions submitted to the combined synopsis and solicitation. 1. In item 3.0 paragraph 2 it states that a split/splitless injector is required for the inlet that contains the PDHID detector. With the samples that you intend to analyze a gas sampling valve is normally used but is not called for in the Statement of Work. A gas tight syringe may also be used instead of a valve. May a gas tight syringe be used? Answer: No, only the gas sampling valves are acceptable. 2. The request specifies Hayesep as a type of column. This term is often used in the generic sense. Does this mean that only Hayesep columns may be used, or are equivalents allowed? Answer: Equivalents are allowed. 3. No specific column dimensions are mentioned for the molesieve and porous polymer columns. Does this mean we should select the column dimension and specifications according to our best judgment/suggestion? Answer: Yes. 4. The phrase "column for hydrocarbon gas analysis" is a bit vague. If you tell us which hydrocarbons you wish to analyze, we can better select an appropriate column, whether it be packed or capillary. Answer: The hydrocarbons to be analyzed are acetylene, ethane, ethylene, methane, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, propylene. 5. On the data system, we read the request to mean that a data system (PC and software) be included. Is this correct, or do we mealy have to be able to connect to another data system? Answer: Just able to connect to another system (Ethernet preferred). B. Amend the Statement of Work as follows: The second paragraph of Section 3 of the Statement of Work is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following: The instrument must be equipped with a Pulsed Discharge Helium Ionization Detector (PDHID) and a Flame Ionization Detector (FID). The contaminants to be identified by PDHID are: hydrogen, oxygen, argon, nitrogen, methane, and carbon monoxide. The detectors must be on separate data acquisition channels and must be able to operate concurrently. The instrument must be equipped with two independent gas inlet systems. The PDHID inlet will be equipped with head pressure control, programmable split ratio control, septum purge, helium purge gas injection valve. The FID inlet must be a six port automated gas sampling valve. The instrument is required to have electronic flow control and a gas purifier to remove carrier gas impurities. The instrument must be delivered with a molesieve and hayesep columns for the PDHID, and a column for hydrocarbon gas analysis for the FID. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to 1:30 CST on September 7, 2005. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on September 7, 2005.
