Description
More RFI Answers Below: Response Date is now 30 Aug 05. Which C-130 MDSs will receive the CDP installations; the PDP installations? E, H, and J models For aircraft that currently have armored Paratroop doors, do you want the PDPs armored for those aircraft? Yes, and if possible use existing door armor. It does not appear that the PDP angles should be the same as the CDP angles especially ?between the 3 o?clock to 9 o?clock continuum behind the aircraft?. Please recheck the PDP viewing requirement. This is the best case scenario that we where hoping for please summit your best estimate of what you feel is a going to be the real viewing capability for us to evaluate. It appears that the government wants the contractor to provide any requisite Gp A and Gp B defensive systems (flare & chaff) dispense capability (assuming the aircraft is equipped with the applicable systems) AND oxygen and life support systems at the CDP. Is this correct? Does this include AERP? Does this include interphone capability (receive & transmit)? Does this include power for use of NVGs? We assume yes to all the above, is our interpretation correct? Yes Is removal of the CDP for airdrops an alternative? Yes, as long as it is removable in flight Do you want all PDPs armored, or only those PDPs to be installed in aircraft? All PDPs are to be armored, although it was the government?s intent that the paratroop door be used for this. Are drawings available? Drawings are not available at this time. Also, the response due date has been extended to COB 30 Aug 05. Also, to answer FAA Certification question. It was inadvertently placed in the RFI. There is only the Air Worthiness requirement IAW MIL-HDBK-516.
