Description
The U.S. Department of Education intends to award a purchase order to procure services to provide Tribal College And Universities Review and consultation on Executive Order 13336, American Indian and Alaska Native Education. This procurement is not to exceed twelve months. The Office of the Deputy Secretary is responsible for the administration and oversight of programs designed to improve the educational opportunities of America's school age population, ages five through seventeen. The Office of Indian Education is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all Indian Education policies and programs under the No Child Left Behind act in the U.S. Department of Education. This coordination is codified in the Executive Order for Indian Education, Executive Order 13336, and requires the coordination and consultation of these policies and programs with tribal governments and their designated officials. The specific purpose of this procurement is for the contractor to 1) develop a compendium of strategies for Tribal Colleges and Universities to work with local schools to develop mentor programs within their communities and 2) assist with implementing the activities/strategies developed as a result of the National Conference on Executive Order 13336 as they pertain to tribal colleges and universities. This purchase order is intended as a sole source award to be made to the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, 121 Oronoco Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, Phone: 703-838-0400, Fax: 703-838-0388, Email: Aihec@Aihec.Org. AIHEC is uniquely qualified to coordinate tribal college and universities consultation and is the only national Indian organization representative of all tribal college and universities. However, all responsible sources may request a copy of the statement of work and submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the department.
