Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWCDIV Newport intends to place a Fixed Price sole source contract with TEGAM, Inc. for SYSIIA-26A Power Sensor calibrator, 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz, with delivery to Newport, RI by 30 SEP 2005. The basis for the sole source is that TEGAM is the original equipment manufacture and propriety software was developed to ensure accurate calibration of RF sensors. Any other vendor would have to make a significant amount of investment to develop the compatible hardware and software to meet the Navy requirements. TEGAM is the only known source accredited by the Navy?s Metrology and Engineering Center to perform power calibration for the METCAL Program. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
