Description

NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division (TSD) intends to award a sole source contract modification to Oceaneering International Inc.(OII), 501 Prince George Blvd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774-7415 under existing contract N61339-04-C-0059 for the fabrication of spare parts for the prototype Advanced SEAL Delivery System (ASDS) Lockin-Lockout/Transport Compartment (LIO/TC) Training Device. This one-time acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 6.302-1, ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.? OII has completed the Reverse Engineering effort (Phase I), the Conceptual and Design effort (Phase II), and the Development and Test effort (Phase III) of the prototype ASDS LIO/TC Training Device. The training device was fielded at the Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWC) Pearl City, Hawaii in June 2005 and is currently under warranty for a one-year period. OII is the only firm qualified to fabricate the required spare parts for the prototype ASDS LIO/TC Training Device. The use of non-OII fabricated parts will void the trainer warranty. This modification is not for the procurement of commercially available items. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotation or proposal. No solicitation document is available. NAVAIR Orlando TSD intends to award a sole source contract modification fifteen (15) business days after publication of this notice.
