Description

This solicitation is being sought for soil excavation and soil sampling observations in various counties in South Dakota. The Contractor shall furnish all personnel and equipment necessary to excavate soil pits 7? deep x 4? wide with a 10? bottom, gently sloping sides for access into and out of the pits. The pit shall remain open for 2-3 days, or as the NRCS personnel direct. The NRCS shall provide at least three days prior notice to the Contractor of the location for the excavation site. The pits shall be refilled in such a manner as to leave as much topsoil as possible on the surface utilizing soil from the original excavation. This contract shall be an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract. Counties where services may be utilized include but are not limited to: Pennington Meade Grant Roberts Jackson Bids should represent the cost for equipment, operator and travel time to and from the excavation site. Bids should include the counties in which you are interested in performing the work and the cost per excavation site in that county. The Contractor is responsible for having a current knowledge of the requirements of state law in connection with excavation activities. The Contractor shall be responsible for notifying South Dakota One Call as outlined in SDCL 49-7A-5. The Contractor will provide evidence of liability insurance coverage in the amount $250,000. The period of performance of this contract is from October 1, 2005 to September 30, 2006.
