Description

Notice of Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns: (a) The proposed contract is 100% set aside for award to service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. Offers from other than service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. (b) Definitions. As used in this provision: "Service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern" (1) Means a small business concern (i) Not less than 51 percent of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of any publicly owned business, not less than 51 percent of the stock of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans; and (ii) The management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of a veteran with permanent and severe disability, the spouse or permanent caregiver of such veteran. (2) Service-disabled veteran means a veteran, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(2) , with a disability that is service-connected, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(16). The Togus VA Medical Center intends to award a contract to "Install Master Alarm Panels in Bldg. Nos. 200, 207 & 238. Work includes installation of master alarm panels, electrical work, necessary removal and replacement of existing ceiling tile and grid and all other items associated with work identified on the drawings. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including furnish labor and materials and perform work as required by drawings and specifications. All work will be in strict compliance with all applicable codes and VA regulations. This will be a firm fixed price contract. NAICS Code 238210 applies with a small business size standard of $12.0 million. Estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on August 25, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. local time, in Building 202, 2nd Floor, Engineering Conference Room, VA Medical Center, Togus, ME. This solicitation is subject to availability of funds.
