Description

The project consists of maintenance dredging portions of the Channel to Newport News in Hampton Roads, Virginia to a required depth of 52 feet MLLW with one foot of allowable overdepth. The work involves dredging approximately 334,000 cubic yards of material including allowable overdepth dredging and estimated accretion to April 2005. The work shall be performed by a hydraulic cutterhead dredge and pipeline with all dredged material transported and placed in the designated Government-furnished place ment area at Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area (CIDMMA). Potential bidders are informed that there will be a large volume of dredging placement by others at CIDMMA during this contract and only one cell of the CIDMMA will be available at a tim e for use during this contract. Magnitude of construction is $1,000,000.00 - $2,500,000.00. Applicable NAICS code is 237990, with a size standard of $17.2 million. The solicitation will be available on the Internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued.
