Description: The USDA Forest Service is a major sponsor of the National Conference on Urban Ecosystems (NCUE, former National Urban Forest Conference, organized by American Forests every two years since the late 1970?s). This year the conference will be held on November 17-18, 2005, in Charlotte, NC. One of the many ways to financially support the conference is by awarding scholarships to encourage individuals? participation. Each USDA Forest Service region has the option to award certain amount of scholarships every time the conference is held. This year the USDA Forest Service intends to award NCUC scholarships for minority and underrepresented individuals for a total of $107,500.80.
