- Description
- The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) if searching for sources that can provide the following: The Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Clinical Research Coordinating Center (CSPCRPCC) has a requirement to obtain MS SQL/relational database training and coaching for approximately 5 - 8 individuals. The training/coaching time will be divided between classroom type instruction for the 5 - 8 individuals and one-on-one instruction/coaching. The training/coaching will be conducted at the CSPCRPCC facility in Albuquerque, with the required hardware and software provided by the CSPCRPCC. The CSPCRPCC will be transitioning from dBase IV to MS SQL and will require training and guidance throughout this process. The CSPCRPCC will require a needs assessment, evaluating the current state of the transition project and recommend a plan for moving forward. The needs assessment will, at a minimum, consider the following: a view to what level the database transition team has taken their data modeling and database design efforts, a better understanding of the various relationships between what will be legacy systems and what will be updated systems, what "front end" applications are to interface with the new system and what modifications may be necessary to make that interface possible, an understanding of what resources have been or are expected to be put into place to facilitate the project, a better comprehension of what support and training team members will require. The following training and assistance will also be required: helping team members relate experience in Oracle and MySQL environments to a SQL environment, creating an analysis of the existing environment and using that analysis to conceptualize and design the desired operating environment, redefining activities based on the enhanced functionalities available in the desired operating environment and including these features in the design and development of that environment, designing and developing an environment that is capable of supporting both the new development and also legacy applications that are not targeted for transition, deploying portions of the new environment over the Internet, applying current "front-end" technologies to feed the newer database environment and reduce development and deployment times. The CSPCRPCC also requires the flexibility to redefine objectives, topics and delivery methodologies along the way as the need is perceived or arises. This sources sought does not constitute an order of any kind nor does it guarantee that an order will be generated in the near future.
