- Description
- The purpose of the amendment to the combined synopsis/solicitation is to provide all potential offerors with a copy of the questions and answers that have been asked and answered regarding this solicitation. W-Band Klystron Amplifier (Radar Transmitter) The klystron requires a load VSWR of 1.2:1, maximum. In the block diagram an output isolator or circulator is not shown.*** 1. Is an output isolator required in the transmitter? The transmitter will be connected to an "external" circulator assembly (not required as part of this procurement) to provide the correct match to the antenna. The circulator assembly has a return loss of -28.2 dB (VSWR 1.08:1). For additional testing purposes, NOAA is will purchase a high powered load with the correct VSWR ( 1.10:1) to match the transmitter requirements.*** 2. Is the output isolator or circulator included in the block labeled T/R Switch? NOAA has purchased the circulator as part of the T/R switch assembly. The assembly consists of a high power three port circulator and two cascaded low loss receiver protection switches (switched ferrite circulators), from EMS, Norcross Georgia.
