Description
The White Mountain National Forest is looking for a consultant that can come and provide a safe systematic approach in removing and replacing an existing cable suspension bridge in a remote wilderness location on the Forest. The consultant must possess the following skill base within their organization. 1. Principal: Master Builder Must have technical expertise in the design and construction of recreational trails, bridges and historic structures commonly found in National Forests, and other public outdoor recreation sites as well as expertise is in the implementation of construction and service projects in remote and/or environmentally sensitive areas. Must also have experience in overseeing construction of cable pedestrian bridges and natural area site restoration. Principal-Professional Engineer Must have a structural Engineer with experience in pedestrian design and construction projects, including bridge design of treated timber bridges in wilderness. Must possess comprehensive experience with analysis of live, dead, and dynamic loads on cables, towers, sway bracing, deck systems, and anchor mechanisms. 2. Principal: Project Manager A Project Manager with hands-on on-the-ground experience in remote area cable pedestrian bridge construction projects. Experience in trail bridge construction and trail re-construction and maintenance in Wilderness as well as on the ground construction manager. 3.Technical Designer: Experience in using Computer Aided Design Technology to develop accurate 3-Dimensional designs & renderings to ensure form, fit and function, as well as 2-Dimensional detail engineering drawings for bridges structures, who can assist in adapting original plans to current hardware and other details.
