Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Proto-Tek Engineering & Design, 2823 Cass Road, Traverse, Michigan for 150 flask package controller circuit boards. The controller circuit boards will be used in the NOAA/CMDL Programmable Flask Package sampling systems. The hardware in these systems have very specific interface requirements in order to control bidirectional torque-limited valve motors, read pressure sensors and communicate with other system packages over a serial bus. The controller must be electrically (21-30V supply), physically (3 x 6 inch maximum size) and mechanically (interface connectors at opposing board ends) compatible with the flask package it is mounted in. These controllers must have the specific (motor) interface, code compatibility or physical configuration needed for this application. This announcement is being issued under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13 (under $100,000). Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement. Any responses shall be received in writing no later than August 9, 2005. Anticipated Award date is August 10, 2005.
