Description

This is an unrestricted procurement. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, and constructing Item 445-R, Levee Enlargement and Berms, in Madison Parish, Louisiana. Principal features of the work include mobilizat ion and demobilization, clearing and grubbing, borrow area drainage structures, stone ditch protection, semicompacted levee embankment, uncompacted berm embankment, ramps, gravel road relocation, granular surface course for road relocation, ditches, removi ng and replacing existing gravel surfacing on levee and ramps, new sand-clay-gravel or crushed stone surfacing for levee and ramps, establishment of turf and mowing, erosion control, removing existing cattle guards and concrete headers, reinstalling existi ng cattle guards with new concrete headers, corrugated metal pipe culverts, providing as-built drawings, using the Government-furnished software (RMS) for electronic exchange of information and management of the contract (See Section 01312 QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM), storm water pollution prevention, and environmental protection. The value of the proposed work is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Plans and specifications will be available on the Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office WEB PAGE at http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil./contract/. Compact discs and hardcopies will not be available. Bidders should check the VCCO Web Page often for new solicitations and/or changes (AMENDMENTS) to existing ones. Issue date on or about January 27, 2005. Bid opening date on or about March 1, 2005. Rights-of-way to proceed with construction are not available; therefore, bids will not be opened and contract award will not be made until all necessary rights-of-way are available.
