- Description
- CONTACT Greg Youll, Production Engineer, (732) 532-0216. This is a Market Survey to locate additional sources for the Starter, Engine, Electrical, NSN 2920-01-219-8200, Part Number M002T65711, CAGE 3N649. The starter is manufactured by Mitsubishi In ternational Corporation. DOD has also purchased the part in the past from Onan Corporation under part number 191-1550, CAGE 44940. The starter is used on the DN2M and DN4M engines manufactured by Onan to power the 5 & 10 kW (MEP-802/812/803/814) Tactical Quiet Generators (TQGs). DOD is interested in awarding a long term contract to purchase 10-1200 starters per year for the next 5 years. DOD may also be interested in establishing a repair contract in the future. There are current sources for this item. De tailed technical data for the manufacture or acceptance of these units is not available from the Army. Suppliers capable of furnishing new starters or repairing Government provided cores should indicate so by writing to Commander, CECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-CCS -G-GN, Building 1200W, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5023. The response should include production lead time, production capacity by month, surge capacity, number of years part will be available, ranges for price breaks if applicable, part number & manufacturer (C AGE) of proposed parts, repair quantity capacity, or any other information that could affect the acquisition, supply and delivery of the parts. The response should also include documentation such as copy of purchase order if the supplier was a vendor to t he listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with a unit from the supplier listed above. The Government will also consider starters from other manufacturers that have the same form, fit, and function as the required part. Alternate starters would have to pass extensive performance and qualification testing to ensure the parts meet the Militarys requirements, the cost and time of which would be considered in the acquisition decision. The successful supplier may be required to warrant that the item supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. For more information contact Greg Youll, 732) 532-4748. The deadline for response is Aug 5, 2005. EMAIL ADDRE SS: donald.youll@mail1.monmouth.army.mil
