- Description
- The US Army at Picatinny Arsenal has a need to purchase an instrument capable of performing Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA)and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The TGA measurements must be made simultaneously with either the DTA or DSC measurements. The instrument must be of a top-loading design, vacuum-tight (less than 10E-4 millibar), and have easily interchangeable sensors for switching between DSC, DTA and large volume (3.4 ml) TGA-only modes. The DSC sensor must be a true metallic plate- type heat-flux DSC type. The instrument must have a Silicon Carbide furnace with a temperature range of 25 C to 1550 C; and have interchangeable furnaces available to extend the temperature range from -120 C to 1650 C. The balance temperature must be thermostatically controlled and capable of measuring a 5 gram sample with a digital resolution of 0.1 micrograms, and an effective resolution of less than 1 microgram. The instrument must have thecapability of measuring heat capacity of materials up to 1400 C. An adapter and transfer line capable of being heated to 300 C for coupling with a Mass Spectrometer for evolved gas analysis is also required. A mass flow controller must be available for programming of purge gases and purge gas flow rates through system software. SEE NOTE 22. POC is William Sharpe, 973-724-7144.
