Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, St. Inigoes, MD (Code 4.5.10) has a sole source requirement for the procurement of calibration, corrective and preventive maintenance of the Automated Indoor Compact Antenna Test Range pertaining to the anechoic chamber, positioning system, interconnecting cabling and the Scientific Atlanta (SA) Model 2083E Antenna Analyzer System. The contract type is anticipated to be a Firm-Fixed Price contract with Microwave Instrumentation Technologies (MIT), LLC, 1125 Satellite Boulevard, Suite 100, Suwanee, Georgia 30024-4629. The period of performance consists of one base year plus four one-year options. The North American Industry Classification system (NAICS) Code is 334220 with a small business size standard of 750 people. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy the agency requirements. Microwave Instrumentation Technologies (MIT), LLC, is currently providing these services under contract N00421-00-C-0600. The electronic test equipment required for testing and calibration is proprietary to Microwave Instrumentation Technologies, LLC and is not available from any other source. The testing and calibration performed under the maintenance contract is critical to the performance of the Range. If the Range became inoperable, the Government would not be able to verify the performance of the tracking antennas, impacting delivery of the antennas to various shipyards for installation and seriously affecting fleet readiness. For this reason, Microwave Instrumentation Technologies, LLC is the only company that can provide these services. All responsible sources may submit a proposal by August 12, 2005, which shall be considered by the agency. Capability statements may be faxed to Ms. Mary Jean Orwig, Contract Specialist, at (301) 995-8670 or emailed to mary.orwig@navy.mil. The Contracting Officer is Ms. Josephine Scully, email Josephine.Scully@navy.mil, telephone 301-995-8117.
