- The Contractor shall furnish all plant, materials, labor, services, equipment, supervision, and performance necessary to remove existing windows pursuant to technical specifications and plans. The Contractor shall remove one existing window from each bedroom of two and three bedroom houses, duplexes and multiple unit apartments. The Contractor shall remove all the windows and prepare openings for new windows. The Contractor shall modify structural framing and install new sliding egress windows. The Contractor shall field measure each window opening before window fabrication and install new energy efficient windows in prepared window openings. The Contractor shall repair interior and exterior surfaces to match existing construction in color and texture at new window installation areas. Install new Venetian blinds at all new window installation only. Project locations are: Shiprock Agency, Shiprock, New Mexico: (1) Lower Shiprock Agency Headquarters, (2) Upper Shiprock Agency Headquarters, (3) Red Rock Day School, (4) Sanostee Day School. Western Navajo Agency, Tuba City, Arizona: (1) Tuba City Headquarters and (2) Tuba City Boarding School. Eastern Navajo Agency, Crownpoint, New Mexico: (1) Torreon Community School, (2) Lake Valley Navajo School, (3) Crownpoint Boarding School. Chinle Agency, Chinle, Arizona: (1) Cottonwood Day School. Fort Defiance Agency, Fort Defiance, Arizona: (1) Window Rock Housing Area. Verification of actual dimensions, material, supply and all existing conditions shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor. The Bureau of Indian Affairs requires a firm, fixed-price construction contract. This is a full and open competition acquisition, and is set-aside for small business. Period of Performance is 150 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Bid opening date is scheduled at 2:00 P.M. (local time), August 5, 2005 at BIA-Navajo Regional Office, 301 West Hill Avenue, 3rd Floor Conference Room No. 342, Gallup, New Mexico 87301. Twenty-five (25) sets of solicitation packages will be available on first come, first served basis until the supply is exhausted. Technical inquiries must be submitted in writing ten (10) days before the closing date. Bidders are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. All responsive bids from responsible bidders will be considered. Interested firms are requested to submit a written request to obtain the solicitation package either by mail or by facsimile, Fax No (505) 863-8382 to the attention of Darin Dona. Telephone requests to obtain the solicitation package will not be accepted. Contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
